About Us
Welcome to the website of the Stratford-upon-Avon and District Branch of the MS Society. Whilst we are based at Stratford-upon-Avon we cover many other towns and villages across South Warwickshire including: Alcester, Alderminster, Bidford on Avon, Dorsington, Ettington, Henley-in-Arden, Kineton, Long Marston, Newbold-on-Stour, Salford Priors, Shipston-on-Stour, Studley, Tredington, Welford on Avon and Wellesbourne.
As a branch of the national MS Society we aim to offer support for local people affected by MS and provide information about useful services in the local area. We are a group of friendly people who meet regularly to exchange news and views on MS and life in general. Our branch runs a number of social, educational and recreational events in the local area, so you will be sure to find an event that suits you.
We would be pleased to hear from anyone affected by MS and welcome new members. Currently our branch is run by a small team of dedicated people but we would be delighted to hear from anyone who would like to get involved with our work.
Message from our Chairman
"Our major news for 2012 is the introduction of our partnership with the Stratford and District Citizens’ Advice Bureau. We plan to continue the excellent Drop Ins that we hold around the District each month. By
using three separate locations for these Drop Ins we are able to go out
to meet people in venues that are more convenient for them. We hope that people who have never visited us before will feel able to come along to meet us at one of these events.
We also hope to hold another Therapy Day later in the year. Our first Therapy Day, in November 2011, was so successful that everyone who attended asked us to run the event again.
We continue to work hard to raise funds for our branch’s activities and research into MS, and to raise awareness of MS through regular street collections and coffee mornings. Many thanks to all the organisations and individuals who have generously helped us in the past."
